Process
India exports roughly twice as much value in polished stone as in raw block, and the gap is widening. That gap is this page — and since we buy our blocks rather than quarry them, it is also the entire business. Everything below happens on our own site, under our own supervisors.
We are a processing factory and we do not own a quarry, so every block is a purchasing decision rather than whatever our own pit happened to produce. Our people inspect at the quarry or the block yard before money changes hands, and selection is on fleck density, freedom from quartz veining and crack lines, and squareness of the mass.
Blocks are squared with wire saw so the gangsaw loads flat and evenly. Uneven loading is the most common cause of thickness variation across a bundle, and it is cheaper to fix here than to argue about later.
Gangsaws produce full-size slabs at 18, 20 and 30 mm for countertops and cladding. The multi-wire block cutter handles cutter-slab sizes and thinner calibrated material at higher throughput and lower waste.
Slabs are dried, epoxy-resined to fill natural pits, and cured in a heated oven. Where a slab needs fibre-mesh backing for transport or for a thin countertop run, it is applied here and disclosed on the grade sheet.
The polishing line steps through progressively finer abrasive heads to a measured gloss. On a stone with no pattern to hide behind, gloss consistency across an entire bundle is the whole quality argument — so we measure it rather than eyeball it.
For countertops, treads, sills and monuments, slabs go to bridge saw and CNC for sizing, edge profiling and cut-outs. Templates can be supplied by you as DXF, or taken on site for local retail work.
Final inspection happens under controlled light against the grade sheet the order was sold on. Every slab is photographed. Then it is bundled for a sea voyage, not for a short truck ride.
Water & waste
Sawing and polishing consume large volumes of water. Ours runs through settling tanks and a filter press, and returns to the line rather than to the ground. Slurry cake goes to brick and cement users instead of a dump.
Offcuts are sorted for cobbles, kerbs and tiles before anything is written off. On black granite, offcut recovery is a meaningful part of what makes the price work.
